616 Puja mandaps erected in Jessore

JESSORE, Sept 23 (BSS): Much enthusiasm now prevails among the Hindu Community at different places in eight upazilas of Jessore in connection with the five-day long Durga Puja, one week ago of the festival.
District Puja Udjapon Committee secretary Dipankar Das Ratan said almost 85 percent works of the idols had already been completed and rest of the works would be completed within next five days.
District administration and Puja Udjapon Committee sources said Durga Puja will be held at 616 mandaps in Sadar, Abhaynagar, Monirampur, Keshabpur, Bagherpara, Chaugachha, Jhikargachha and Sharsha upazila this year.
