65 workers fall sick in CEPZ

At least 65 workers of a readymade garment (RMG) factory in Chittagong Export Processing Zone (CEPZ) were hospitalised on Saturday as they fell ill after drinking water supplied by the factory authorities. Abul Mansur, officer-in-charge (OC) of EPZ Police Station, said about 60-65 workers of Peninsula Garment factory fell seriously sick, including stomachache and vomiting after drinking water from the factory in the morning. Later 20 workers were admitted to BEPZA Hospital in the EPZ area while the rest others received at another hospital. Hospital sources said they fell seriously ill because of food poisoning, according to a news agency.
