Police seized 67 crude bombs from a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Balugaon in Feni Municipality area on Friday night. The crude bomb seizure was made on the eve of Saturday’s by-polls to Feni Municipality. Acting on a tip-off, police challenged an auto-rickshaw in the area around 8:30pm, said officer-in-charge of Feni Model Police Station Mohammad Mahbub Morshed. Later, 67 crude bombs seized from the three-wheeler after searching it, he said. Police also detained auto-rickshaw driver Mamun, 20, son of Shahjahan of Madua area in the upazila. Police suspected that the bombs were taken here to create subversive acts centring on the municipality by-elections. The municipality fell vacant after its mayor was elected MP in the January 5 general election.
