6th phase UZ polls May 19

The chief election commissioner has announced the schedule for the sixth phase of the 4th Upazila Parishad elections. CEC Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad has announced the schedule at a press conference in the city. The local government polls have already been held in five phases at 459 of the 487 Upazilas (UZ) in the country. In the last phase, 14 more UZs in 10 districts will go to vote on May 19. According to the schedule, the deadline for submitting nominations at these UZs is April 24 and May 3 is the last date for withdrawal of nominations. The UZs that will go to vote on May 19 are Sadar, Kaunia, Gangachhara and Pirgachha Upazilas in Rangpur, Kamarkhand in Sirajganj, Taltali in Barguna, Rangabali in Patuakhali, Kalukhali in Rajbari, Bandar in Narayanganj, Sadar in Gazipur, Basail in Tangail, Bijoynagar in Brahmanbaria, Adarsha Sadar and Sadar Dakkhin in Comilla district, according to bdnews24.com.
