7 arrested for BRAC Bank heist

RAB personnel on Wednesday arrested seven men from Dhaka and Munshiganj districts and Manikganj’s Aricha in connection with the Tk 20 million BRAC Bank robbery in Joypurhat town last month. RAB Media Wing Deputy Director Rumman Mahmud said the suspects were arrested on Wednesday night from Dhaka, Aricha, Munshiganj and other places. Tk 5.6 million was recovered from them. Robbers on September 26 night knocked down the wall of the bank’s branch on the first floor of a building at Sadar Street in Joypurhat district town. Bank officials estimate Tk 19.95 million had been robbed, according to bdnews24.com.
