7 arrested in city for killing Jisan

Detectives have arrested 7 people in connection with the killing of Aminul Islam alias Jisan from different areas of Dhaka city. The plain-clothes policemen also recovered the mobile phone, used by the victim, from the possession of the arrestees. The arrested were identified as Mehedi Hasan, Sharif Hossain, Md Imon, Md Hasan Ahmed and Md Asif Iqbal alias Anik, Md Amit Hasan and Md Wasif Ullah alias Gourav. Miscreants beat Jisan with iron rods on the bank of Dhanmondi-32 Lake in the evening of May 12 this year. He was taken to Bangladesh Medical College Hospital in Dhanmondi from where he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). He, however, succumbed to his injuries at the DMCH on May 14. A case was filed with Dhanmondi Police Station the following day and later it was transferred to Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police. DB sources said a special DB team, led by its senior assistant commissioner Md Nur Alam Siddique, conducted drives in different areas of Dhaka from Sunday night to early Monday and arrested the 7 suspected killers. During preliminary interrogation, the arrestees confessed to their involvement in the killing, according to a news agency.
