7 BCL activists held at DU

Police arrested seven activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League conducting a raid at Salimullah Muslim Hall of Dhaka University (DU) in the early hours of Wednesday.
The arrestees were identified as Ehtesham Khokan, Rehman Naser Rajib, Sakhwat Shakil, Imtiaz Rasel, Aziz, Kamal and outsider Hamidur Rahman Titu.
Shahbagh thana police conducted the raid and also recovered 12 chapattis, 10 iron rods, two machetes and a huge amount of cannabis searching different rooms of the hall from 2:30 to 5 am.
Police said the arrestees were hiding on the dormitory roof during the raid, adding that they were arrested for interrogation.
DU Proctor Saiful Islam Khan said police had arrested the aforesaid BCL activists, as they were wandering suspiciously on the roof of the hall during the raid.
