7-day ban on licensed firearms

The government has imposed a restriction on exhibiting and carrying of any kind of licensed firearm in three city corporations of Dhaka and Chittagong from April 25 to May 1, reports UNB.
The Home Ministry issued an order on Thursday ahead of elections to three city corporations-Dhaka North City Corporation, Dhaka South City Corporation and Chittagong City Corporation-scheduled to be held on April 28.According to the order, the restriction will be effective from 6:00 am on April 25 to until 12:00 pm on May 1, said deputy secretary (political section-4) of Home Ministry Habibur Rahman.
However, the members of all law enforcement agencies, security personnel of all government, semi-government and non -government offices, financial institutions and other organisations are exempted from the order.
