7 die in road accidents in two districts

MYMENSINGH, May 4 (bdnews24.com): Road accidents have killed at least four people and left 50 others injured in Tarakanda and Trishal Upazilas of Mymensingh, police said.
"A head-on collision took place between two buses in Bagunda of Mymensingh-Haluaghat road under Tarakanda police area around 10.30am on Wednesday," said Mymensingh additional police superintendent (North) Abdul Mabud.
Locals took the injured to the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where the four unidentified victims including a woman died, he added.
Another accident in Boilor of Dhaka-Mymensingh highway under Trishal upazila has left at least 20 people injured including some students of National Poet Nazrul Islam University.
The university bus was headed to Trishal as it collided with an oncoming bus, police said.
Some 15 people who were seriously injured were admitted to MMCH.
Hearing the news of accident, the university students vandalised some vehicles including a police car on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway.
Vehicle movements came to a standstill in both sides of the roads due to the accidents.

UNB adds: Three people were killed in a head- on-collision between a bus and a CNG run auto-rickshaw at Gazipur in Daudkandi Upazila on Dhaka-Chittagong highway this (Wednesday) morning.
Two of the deceased were identified as Hafez Sadek (45), son of Yakub Ali and Mahbubul Haque (50), son of Saifuddin of Sendi village in the upazila. The identity of another deceased could not be known immediately.
Police and witnesses said the accident occurred at around 8am when the Chandpur-bound passenger bus of Padma Paribahan from Dhaka collided with the auto-rickshaw in the area, leaving three auto-rickshaw passengers dead on the spot.
Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Comilla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police seized the bus. A case was filed.
