7 found dead in Gazipur in 2 days

In separate incidents, police recovered the bodies of seven people at different places in Gazipur district, including the city and Sreepur and Kaliakoir upazilas, from Wednesday night to Thursday. The body of a man was recovered from Dhaka-Tangail railway tracks at Shalna in Gazipur city on Thursday. The dead is Badhan Chandra, 35, a resident of Fulpur upazila of Mymensingh district. Police suspected that Badhan committed suicide by jumping on the rail tracks from the flyover over Dhaka-Mymensingh rail route on Wednesday night. Police recovered the body of Alimunnessa, 50, a housewife, from a house in Deshipara area in Gazipur city. She was suspected to be killed by miscreants. In another incident, Hasan Selim, 45, owner of Best Wear Knitting Garments, was found dead at his rented house at Kathora of the city on Thursday morning. Family members claimed that miscreants killed Hasan Selim and looted Tk 0.67 million from the house. The body of a schoolboy was recovered from Barmi Bazar area in Sreepur upazila in the morning. The deceased was identified as Sayem, 8, son of Md Rafique, a local businessman. Police said Sayem went missing on Wednesday evening. A housewife was killed by her husband at Kodma village in the upazila on Wednesday night. The deceased was identified as Mansoora Begum Riba, 20, wife of Khorshed of the village. Locals said Riba was beaten to death by her husband over a family feud on Wednesday night. On information, police recovered the body on Thursday morning and arrested Khorshed. Police recovered the body of an unknown woman from Karnapur area of Sreepur in the morning. Yet in another incident, the body of a female RMG worker was recovered from Dainkini area of Kaliakoir. The deceased was identified as Khaleda Begum, 25, wife of Makbul Hossain of Thakurbari village in Ulipur upazila of Kurigram district. Locals saw Khaleda hanging at her house in the morning and informed police who rushed in and recovered the body. Victim’s husband went into hiding just after the incident, locals said, according to UNB.
