7 Gazipur factories fined

The Department of Environment (DoE) on Sunday fined seven dyeing and garment factories Tk 10.24 million for polluting the environment. A DoE team, led by its Dhaka headquarters director (Monitoring & Enforcement) M Alamgir inspected different factories on September 10. During the visit, the DoE team found seven factories polluting the environment and asked them to appear before a hearing at the DoE head office in the capital on Sunday, according to a news agency.
