7 get life term for killing in Keraniganj

A Dhaka tribunal on Wednesday convicted seven people and sentenced them to life term imprisonment for killing a trader in Keraniganj in 2010.
The convicts are Jahangir, Saidul Islam, Masud Rana, Salauddin, Soleman (1), Solemn(2) and Jashim. Of the convicts, Soleman (2) was tried in absentia.
The court also fined them Tk 20,000 each, in default, to suffer one year more rigorous imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, the convicts beat up Alamgir Hossain Mister, a local trader, following previous enmity at Bhaoar Bhiti village in South Keraniganj, leaving him critically injured on November 13, 2010. Later he succumbed to his injuries at a hospital on November 17, 2010, according to UNB.
