7 held with firearm, ammo in city

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel have arrested seven people with illegal arms and ammunition in the city. Major Kamran Kobir Uddin of RAB-3 confirmed the news saying Zohirul Islam, Humayun Kabir Sarker, Mohammad Hossain, Ferdous Mia, Omar Faruk, Raju and Rasel were detained from the city’s West Rampura area on Monday. RAB-3 said, ‘being tipped off, a RAB team raided the second floor of a house in Rampura and arrested them with a pistol, 15 round of bullets and two magazines. Six long knives, 13 mobile phone handsets and 16 SIM cards were also recovered from the detainees. A case was filed, according to BSS.
