7 human traffickers arrested

Police arrested 7 human traffickers in Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar district on Tuesday afternoon. The arrestees were identified as Zafar Alam, 52, and his brother Bodi Alam, 29, Mohammad Farid, 55, Shahidul Islam, 25, Zafar Alam, 27, Nazir Ahmed, 35, and Zahir Ahmed, 60. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Teknaf Police Station Ataur Rahman Khondakar said the 7 enlisted human traffickers have been arrested from Monday night to Tuesday afternoon. All of them were detained from from Shahpari Dwip. He said the police have been showing zero tolerance to human trafficking, according to a news agency.
