7 jailed in city for producing, marketing fake cosmetics

A mobile court in Dhaka has sentenced 7 people upto 2 years imprisonment on charge of manufacturing and marketing fake cosmetics in the city’s Chawkbazar area. The court, led by executive Magistrate AHM Anwar Pasha and assisted by Rab-10 personnel, raided Khan Market in Chwak Mugaltuli and also destroyed fake cosmetics worth Tk 2 million. The convicts are fake cosmetic factory owner Sayeed Khan, son of Khan Market Traders’ Association president Hazi Mofiz, his manager Samsad, employee Md Omar Faruque, shop owners Md Din Islam, Md Delwar Hossain, Md Shamim and Md Hemayet Khan, according to a news agency.
