7 killed, 29 injured in Comilla road accident

At least 7 people were killed and 29 others injured in a road accident in Chauddagram Upazila in Comilla district on Sunday morning. The deceased could not be identified yet. Police said a Dhaka-bound truck collided with a Chittagong-bound bus from Gaibandha near Miabazar on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway around 5:00am, killing the truck driver and his helper and four passengers of the bus, including two women and a minor girl, on the spot. The accident also left 30 other people injured, many of them critically. The injured were rushed to Comilla Medical College Hospital and Chauddagram Health Complex. Another injured person died at the health complex later. The traffic on the busy highway was disrupted for half an hour due to the incident, according to a news agency.
