7 killed in road mishaps

SIRAJGANJ, Mar 3 (UNB): Six people were killed and seven others were injured in separate road accidents in Kamarkhand, Salanga and Ullapara police stations Thursday.
Police said a Rajshahi-bound salt laden truck from Chittagong collided with another potato laden truck leaving truck drivers Farook Hossain (40) and Milon (37), helper Hossain Ali (29) and another unidentified man dead at Konabari Bridge No 6 in Kamarkhand Upazila at about 5am.
On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to the Sirajganj General Hospital. The injured were also rushed to the same hospital.
In another incident, an unidentified pedestrian, aged about (30), died on the spot as a coach ran over him at near Panchila Bazar in Salanga Thana at about 9am.
Another pedestrian Musa (35) was killed as a three-wheeler Nosiman ran over him at Betkandi in Ullapara Upazila at the same time.
Noakhali
BSS adds: A minor school boy was killed and another student seriously injured in a road accident at Sonaimuri-Dhaka highway in front of Sonaimuri police station today.
The deceased was identified as Arifur Rahman (7), son of Md. Salim and a student of Sishu Kanon Kinder Garden School in the area.
Humayun Kabir officer-in-charge of Sonaimuri police station said a Noakhali Bound bus from Dhaka hit Arif and Arman Hossain while they were trying to cross the road and left Arif died on the spot.
Arman Hossain was rushed to the Noakhali General Hospital in a critical condition.
