7 more die in suspected measles cases

Seven more died in suspected measles cases in the country during the past 24 hours until 8:00 am on Sunday, according to the health authorities.
Of the fatalities, Dhaka division reported the highest number of four deaths during the period while one death was recorded at each of Chattogram, Mymensingha and Khulna division, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in its daily bulletin.
On the other hand, 66 new confirmed measles cases were also reported across the country during the period, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in its daily bulletin.
A total of 1,221 new suspected measles cases were also reported nationwide during the same period, according to the DGHS.
With the latest daily counts, the cumulative number of suspected measles cases reached 79,012 since March 15 last, while confirmed infections reached 9,686 since the outbreak escalated on March 15, 2026.
The total death toll from confirmed measles cases was 91 while that of suspected cases were 529.
According to the bulletin, 1,129 patients with measles symptoms were admitted to hospitals across the country, while 1,120 patients were discharged after recovery.
Dhaka division recorded the highest number of suspected cases at 507, followed by Chittagong division with 225 cases.
