7 more die of Dengue -

Seven more people have died of dengue while 1,209 new patients have been hospitalised with the Aedes mosquito-borne disease across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours till Thursday morning.
The Directorate General of Health Services, or DGHS, said as many as 422 were hospitalised in Dhaka among the new dengue patients until Thursday morning, reports bdnews24.com.
In addition, 211 were hospitalised in the Dhaka Division, 40 in the Mymensingh Division, 160 in the Chattogram Division, 137 in the Khulna Division, 71 in the Rajshahi Division, 26 in the Rangpur Division, 138 in the Barishal Division, and four in the Sylhet Division.
With the new counts, the number of hospitalised dengue patients has reached 69,456 this year. A total of 337 people died among them.
As many as 4,326 patients are currently undergoing treatment for dengue in hospitals across the country. They include 1,900 in the capital and 2,426 outside Dhaka.
The DGHS has been keeping records of dengue hospitalisations and deaths since 2000.
Since then, a record 321,179 dengue hospitalisations were logged in 2023. The highest 1,705 people also died of the disease that year.
