7 remanded over attack on ex-BCL leader Shamim

A Dhaka court has ordered five days police custody for the seven persons arrested over the attack on former student leader AKM Enamul Haque Shamim.
Recording officer of the Court Police Mahitul Islam said that the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mostafizur Rahman rejected their bail pleas, according to a news agency.
Those arrested over the shooting incident are-- Md Monir Hossain, Md Harun, Md Mehedi Hasan, Nazrul Islam Jewel, Nurey Alam Siddique, Rana Hawlader and Nazimul Haque Mitthu.
The Detective Police arrested Siddique, Hawlader and Mitthu from Dhaka Tuesday night while the others were arrested from different parts of the country the previous day by the Rapid Action Battalion.
A member of Awami League’s central committee and former president of its student wing Bangladesh Chhatra League, Shamim was attacked at Dhaka’s Dhanmondi on June 19.
