7 UPDF activists abducted in Rangamati

RANGAMATI, Dec-26: Seven activists of United People's Democratic Front (UPDF), which is demanding full autonomy for indigenous people in Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT), were kidnapped allegedly by the supporters of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS) from Munsi Abdur Rouf square at Manikchhari, some twenty kilometers off the Rangamati town on Friday evening.
Abducted were identified as Pratul Chakma, Santosh Chakma, Jiten Chakma, Keru Chakma, Bikash Chakma, Mishan Chakma and Bindu Dhan Chakma. They were putting up posters on the occasion of 11th founding anniversary of UPDF at Munsi Abdur Rouf square. They all are residents of Kutukchhari of Sadar Upazila and Ghilachhari of Naniachar Upazila, Mickel Chakma, a leader of UPDF said yesterday.
