70 sued over Sylhet clash

A case was filed with Sylhet's Kotwali Police Station on Friday night over a factional clash of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) in the north-eastern divisional city. At least 70 leaders and workers of the two rival factions of the local unit of JCD have been named accused in the case. President of Sylhet district unit JCD Advocate Syed Ahmed, its general secretary Rahat Chowdhury Munna, JCD city unit president Nurul Alam Siddique Khaled, general secretary Abu Saleh Mohamamd Lokman and senior vice president Ahmed Chowdhury Foyez were among the accused. At least 10 people were injured in a fierce clash between the two JCD groups at the Central Shaheed Minar at Zindabazar in the evening, according to a news agency.
