75 cleft-lipped boys, girls operated upon in Ctg

Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL) organised a four-day plastic surgery programme titled "Smile-Brighter for the poor cleft-lipped boys and girls" at Chittagong Maa-Shishu O General Hospital in Agrabad recently, said a press release.
A plastic surgery team consisting of 10 members headed by eminent plastic surgeon Prof AJM Salek conducted the operation.
About 120 cleft-lipped boys and girls have been enlisted for surgery out of them 75 were operated upon successfully and the rest will be operated very soon.
Medical Consultant of DBBL Mozammel Hossain Khan visited the hospital and inquired about the condition of pre and post-operative patients.
Among others, president of Chittagong Maa-Shishu O General Hospital Prof S Karim and Honourary General Secretary Anjuuman Ara Islam were present during the visit, the release added.
