7,994 hectares brought under mustard seeds cultivation

JHENIDAH, Dec 28 (UNB): Some 7,994 hectares have been brought under mustard seeds cultivation in six upazilas of the district in the current season with an output target of 7,994 tonnes.
Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) sources said of the total land 1,734 hectares will be cultivated in Sadar Uapzila, 1,660 hectares in Kaliganj, 950 hectares in Kotchandpur, 1,750 hectares in Moheshpur, 1,250 hectares in Shailakupa and 650 hectares in Harinakundu upazilas.
DAE sources said the necessary steps have been taken to ensure supply of quality seeds and fertilisers at fair prices among the farmers to make the scheme a success.
