8 foreigners held while fishing illegally

Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard detained eight foreign nationals and their two Bangladeshi watchmen from the Karnaphuli Bridge ghat in Chittagong on Thursday night for illegally fishing in the Bangladeshi  territory. The coastguards also seized a trawler, ‘FV Namnavee’, worth about Tk 70.5 million from the S Alam Jetty area of the Karnaphuli River. The arrested foreigners include five Thai nationals and three Myanmar citizens, according to a news agency.
