8 hajj licences scrapped on charges of forgery

The government has cancelled licences of eight hajj agencies and filed cases against them on charges of forgery and cheating in last year's hajj management, reports BSS.
State Minister for Religious Affairs Advocate M Shahjahan Mia said this while presiding over a views-exchange meeting with divisional and district level officials at Islamic Foundation's Agargaon head office.
Religious Affairs Secretary Kazi Habibul Awal, director general of Islamic Foundation Shameem Mohammad Afzal and foundation's directors also spoke on the occasion.
Shahjahan said Bangladesh secured the top position last season in ensuring smooth hajj management in South Asian subcontinent.
He thanked all involved in last year's hajj management and added the government has placed emphasis on smooth hajj management this year too.
