8-hour shutdown on in Singra

The half-day hartal (shutdown), enforced by the local unit of BNP, is progressing peacefully in Singra upazila of Natore on Saturday. No picketing by BNP activists centering the shutdown was seen anywhere. Most of the business establishments remained closed in Singra upazila of the northern district. During the hartal hours, vehicular movement was noticeably thin in the upazila town. Local BNP sources said the hartal which started at 6:00am would continue till 2:00pm, according to a news agency.
