8 killed in Rajbari road accident

At least eight people were killed and 25 others injured in a head-on collision between two buses on Daulatdia-Khulna Highway at Rajbari Sadar Upazila on Friday. Three of the deceased were identified as Jewel, Payel and Babu Fakir Selim. Highway police said the accident took place around 3:30 am when a Barisal-bound bus of ‘Global Paribahan’ from Dhaka collided with a Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Eagle Paribahan’, leaving the eight people killed on the spot and 25 others injured. Police and local people rescued the injured persons and whisked them to Faridpur Medical College Hospital. Police recovered the bodies and sent those to the Faridpur Medical College Hospital for autopsy, according to a news agency.
