8 protesting students injured, 3 detained

At least eight protesting students seeking second chance for Dhaka University (DU) admission test were injured and three others detained when they were trying to dey a police barricade in front of Shahabag police station Sunday.
Eyewitnesses said police charged mild baton over the demonstrating students, when they were crossing Shahabag police station, toward prime minister's office (PMO) to submit a memorandum in this regard at about 11:30am, leaving the students injured.
They said police also detained their fellow protesters Riazul Islam, Ahsan Habib and Zilani Shuvo from the scene as they were defying police barricade. However, the injured couldn't be identified immediately.
The agitating students blocked theĀ  road in front of the National Museum at about 12.00 noon as the police put barricade and later a six-member team of the students submitted the memo to prime minister at about 1:00pm.
However, at about 2:30 pm, security agencies dispersed the protesting students through charging baton and using water cannon.
