8 Shibir men arrested on RU campus

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, June 7 (bdnews24.com): Police arrested eight Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) activists from Rajshahi University campus Monday.
Motihar police station officer-in-charge (OC) Abul Khayer told the news agency that the police team arrested them over a case filed relating to Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) member Faruk's murder.
The arrested are: Faruque, Karim, Bayezid, Hasan Uzzaman, Shamim, Abul Kalam, Habibullah and Ishak.
On February 8, a clash had taken place on the campus between BCL, the student wing of the ruling AL and ICS, the student wing of the Jamaat-e-Islami.
Faruk was killed in a Shibir attack and the next day his body was recovered from a man-hole in the campus.
