8 to die for Alim murder

Eight persons have been sentenced to death for the murder of Awami League leader Hazi Md Alim. Alim, the commissioner for Dhaka’s Ward no. 62, was killed in 1996. Judge Md Akhtaruzzaman of the Third Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court in Dhaka delivered the verdict on Tuesday, 17 years after the murder, according to bdnews24.com.
