80,000 Yaba tablets seized in Teknaf

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 80,000 Yaba tablets from the Naf River under Teknaf Upazila of Cox's Bazar district on Tuesday, reports UNB.
Lt Col Abu Jar Al Zahid, commanding officer of BGB-42, said on a tip-off that a boat carrying a consignment of Yaba tablets was coming through the Naf River from Myanmar, a team of the border force raided the area and challenged a group of people while they reached the river bank by a boat at about 7:30 am.
At one stage, they jumped from the boat and managed to flee from the spot.
Later, the border force recovered 80,000 Yaba tablets in eight packets after searching the boat.
The estimated market value of the Yaba tablets is Tk 24.0 million, Abu jar added
