84,000 Indian cigarettes seized in Sylhet

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel seized 84,000 cigarettes of Indian Nasir brand from Kumarpara border village of Kanaighat upazila of Sylhet district on Wednesday. Mohammad Saiful Islam, assistant director of Kanaighat BGB 31 battalion, said a team of BGB led by habildar Mohammad Montu Miah conducted a drive at the village in the afternoon. Sensing the presence of BGB, the smugglers fled away from the scene. Later the BGB team seized the Indian cigarettes from the spot, according to a news agency.
