9 charge-sheeted in Bernicat’s convoy attack case

The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police has filed a supplementary charge sheet against nine people, including a Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader, in connection with the attack on former US Ambassador Marcia Bernicat's convoy in Dhaka's Mohammadpur area, reports UNB.
The charge sheet was submitted to the court on September 19. The case is scheduled to be heard on October 4.
The accused in the case are: Ishtiaq Mahmud, brother-in-law of Sushashoner Jonno Nagorik (Shujan) Secretary Badiul Alam Majumdar; President of Mohammadpur Thana unit of Chhatra League Naimul Hasan alias Russel; Firoz Mahmud; Mir Amjad Hossain; Saju Islam; Rajibul Islam; Shahidul Alam Khan; Siam; and Oli Ahmed.
Ishtiaq Mahmud, one of the accused, is currently a fugitive. An application for his arrest warrant has been submitted, while the remaining accused are currently on bail.
Shujan Secretary Badiul Alam Majumdar filed the case with Mohammadpur Police Station on August 10, 2018, over the attack on the convoy of former US envoy Marcia Bernicat.
