9 held with 0.11m Yaba in Teknaf

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Coast Guard personnel in separate drives sized 0.11 million Yaba tablets and arrested nine people from different parts of Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar district on Thursday. Lieutenant Colonel Abu Jar Al Zahid, commanding officer of BGB-42 said a team of BGB led by Teknaf BoP Camp Nayek Subedar Abul Kalam conducted a drive in the no 3 sluice gate area of the Naf River and recovered 50,000 Yaba tablets worth Tk15 million from the area early Thursday. In another incident, a team of Coast Guard members in a drive arrested nine people along with 60,000 pieces of Yaba tablet and a fishing trawler at Chera Dwip in Saint Martin's, four kilometres off the Bay of Bengal around 11 am on Thursday, said Coast Guard Station Commander Lieutenant Dixon Chowdhury, according to a news agency.
