9 held with gold bars at Shahjalal Airport

Some nine persons were arrested along with 15 gold bars weighing around 2kg from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the city Friday, reports UNB.
The arrestees are: Md Ataur Rahman, Atwar, Jakir Hossain, Ali Hossain, Rafiqul Shah, Kamrul Islam, Bahauddin, Delwar Hossain and Liton.
They came to HSIA from Saudi Arabia by two flights-Saudi Airlines and Biman Bangladesh Airlines- at 12:00 noon and 4:00 pm respectively Friday.
Senior ASP Alamgir Hossain of Airport Armed Police said they challenged them while they were crossing terminal canopy at the airport and recovered the gold bars from their possession after searching them.
