90 cartons of cigarettes seized at Shahjalal

Customs Intelligence officials on Friday seized 90 cartons of illegal foreign cigarettes and detained a Pakistani national at Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport in the capital. Sources at the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) said the Pakistani citizen, Yusuf, landed at the airport from Karachi by a Pakistan International Airlines flight around 12:30 pm. When he was passing through the airport’s green channel, CIID members challenged him and recovered the 90 cartons of cigarettes searching his luggage. The seized cigarettes include Esse Black, Esse Gold and Esse Lights brands, according to a news agency.
