9th Standard Chartered School Chess begins

The 9th Standard Chartered School Chess Tournament-2007, organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation, began in the city Thursday simultaneously at the NSC conference room and chess federation hall room, reports UNB.
Head of the Corporate Affairs of tournament sponsor Standard Chartered Bank Shah Masud Imam and local Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman inaugurated the meet.
Some 230 schoolboys and girls from 62 schools of India and Bangladesh are taking part in the Swiss-league system meet in three groups-Girls, KG to Class V and Class V1 to X.
