The United Medical College Hospital is an outstanding private-sector medical education and healthcare entity in Dhaka city, equipped with advanced facilities in line with the ever-increasing demands for better health education and services in the country.
During a recent visit, an official concerned directed the reporters' attention to the advanced medical equipment there and seamless healthcare service the flagship hospital has been providing to its patients.
The facility boasts top-class physicians having decades of experience in healthcare and higher degrees from global medical colleges, said the official who is AGM, Business Development, United Healthcare Services and also head of the International Affairs, United Medical College.
"As a healthcare facility for all economic classes of people, we have consultants and specialists taking consultation fees of Tk 500 to Tk 2500 based on the referral requirement and choice of patients," he added.

"We have moderate to top-class beds having the latest and advanced equipment as well as all necessary emergencies set up equally in normal beds to major cabins," he said.
The facility has a separate kidney dialysis unit with capacity to provide service to about 180 patients in a day in exchange of a modest charge.
On-duty doctors describing the situation said that patients from across the city and nearby areas come here to avail service in a clean and hygienic atmosphere.
The 400-bed flagship facility also has over 27 specialised OPD departments, a 22-bed emergency department, 60 hemodialysis units, a fully operational Cath Lab, modular operation theatres, and advanced diagnostic and surgical infrastructure and a robotic surgery platform.
Dr. Azharul Islam Khan, director of medical services at United Healthcare Services, while briefing the reporters in the hospital, said that they have 50 students studying at the medical college while a batch has already completed graduation.
"We have 10 per cent of seats reserved for the disadvantaged group in line with the standard we follow in the country," he added.
"We also train the nurses and other health staff on the behaviour and patient management to improve the country's healthcare reputation and stop health tourism from the country," he added.
"Being a new institution, we have miles to go. And we are hopeful of building the facility as an institution to that of a world-recognised centre," he added, saying that they intend to increase the number of foreign students seeking a medical education in Bangladesh.
United Medical College Hospital is situated in the United City Complex in the capital. There are hostel facilities for both male and female students with proper security, according to the institute.
