A hockey legend

The hockey legend of our country Jummon Lusai is no more. He was only 59 years old when he breathed his last. Although hockey was never the most popular game in our country, Jummon Lusai was very popular among the sports lovers. Whenever we think of Bangladesh hockey, the name of Jummon Lusai comes to mind. Hockey never has got its due place and recognition in our country mainly due to poor management of the game. Jummon Lusai played for Bangladesh national team for a long time. In fact, he was an indispensable part of our national team.
Bangladesh hockey received a severe blow at the demise of Jummon Lusai. He could be an inspiration and a true guide for our young hockey players. I think we have good potential for hockey and if we nurture the young talents properly we can achieve a lot in this field. I hope the hockey federation will take appropriate steps in this respect so that the contribution of Jummon Lusian can be successfully replicated.
