A K Azad new vice president of ICC Bangladesh

A K Azad, chairman and managing director of Ha-Meem Group of Companies, has been elected as the vice president of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Bangladesh Executive Board during its meeting held on Monday.
The post of the vice president became vacant with the death of Latifur Rahman on 1 July 2020, according to a press release.
Azad has achieved outstanding success in expanding the readymade garments sector of Bangladesh.
He has contributed in the policy formulation for development of the industrial sector of the country as a former president of FBCCI and the Bangladesh Chamber of Industries, said the release.
Azad is the founder of the daily Samakal. He is also a director of the Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd and the president of the Dhaka University Alumni Association.
He has been honoured with numerous socio-economic awards for his achievements over the years, the release added.
