A millionaire beggar!

RAJSHAHI, Apr 23: Godagari thana police has arrested a beggar with 75-gram of heroin worth about Tk 0 .75 million from Ujanpara village of the upazila Tuesday noon.
The arrested beggar has been identified as Abdul Quiyum (50), son of Rustom Ali of Madarpur village of the same upazila.
According to sources, responding to a tip off, a police team headed by SI Mehedi Hasan of Godagari thana conducted a raid in Ujanpara village and arrested the beggar with the heroin.
Quiyum used to earn his livelihood through begging at Daingpara crossing of upazila sadar for more than a decade. Under cover of begging, Quiyum also carried heroin from one place to another according to the direction of local heroin smugglers and kingpins.
Abu Farhad, Officer-in-charge of Godagari thana informed, in the incident of recovery of heroin from the possession of beggar Quiyum, a case has been filed with the thana under Drug Control Act.
He was sent to jail hajat through the court today. He further informed, police was trying to get information from arrested Quiyum about the persons involved in heroin smuggling and selling. bwjs123@gmail.com
