A stitch in time saves nine

Friday, 1 August 2014

Every year we see the same scene in the country's road communication. Throughout the year most of the important roads remain in neglected condition,  and suddenly the authorities wake up just before big festivals like Eid ul Fitr and Eid ul Azha. We simply do not understand why the communication ministry cannot repair roads ahead of these two festivals and save the commuters from sufferings. Due to the dilapidated conditions of the roads, vehicles are losing their longevity and every year we have to import vehicles with valuable foreign currency. If roads and highways are in good condition the longevity of vehicles will be doubled and it will benefit the government in the long run.
The communication minister is known as an active person and we believe he is the right person for this sector. I hope he will find the loopholes and fix them so that we do not see similar miserable scene every year. When work is done in haste the quality of work is compromised.  I hope the communication ministry has learned its lesson and it will apply the same in the coming Eid Ul Azha which is only two months away.
