Aamir beats compatriot Farhan in SAG Squash

Pakistani top squash player Aamir Atlas Khan maintained his country's squash domination in South Asian Games when he beat his cousin Farhan Mehboob in three straight games in the final before a jam packed audience at Dhaka Club centre court Monday, reports BSS.
Twenty-year-old Aamir of Peshawar, who was content with silver medal in Colombo Games after losing to Mansoor Zaman, fulfilled his dream of becoming the regional champion, when he defeated Farhan 12-10, 11-7, 11- 7.
Ranked 31 in the world, Farhan offered Aamir a stiff challenge in the opening game before going down 10-12. Aamir showed swift moments in the court and hit some brilliant strokes in front as well at the back of the court.
However, Aamir the changed the tactics in the second game and playing in a steady fashion he kept his opponent at back of the court to take the second game 11-7.
After conceding 2-0 lead, Farhan looked slightly under pressure and taking the advantage, Aamir wrapped the third game 11-7 to seize the gold after a 39-minute tussle.
Pakistan manager and squash wizard and great entertainer of squash followers, Qamar Zaman said that his team will now be looking to complete a double in the team competition with Aamir, Farhan and Mansoor Zaman in Pakistan lineup.
He complimented both Aamir and Farhan for giving the country gold and silver medals. "It's a good feeling that boys brought the glory and honor to the country," he commented.
It is to be mentioned here that Aamir Atlas Khan is son of elder brother of Pakistan's squash legend Jansher Khan while Farhan Mehboob is son of Jansher's elder sister.
