AB Bank, Networld B'desh, Euronet sign EFT deal

AB Bank Ltd, Networld Bangladesh Ltd and Euronet Worldwide Inc, a NASDAQ-listed company's subsidiary that provides EFT services, signed a joint-venture agreement in the city recently.
Under the deal, a joint-venture company will be set up to provide an electronic fund transfer (EFT) and payment system network in the country.
The company will be known as CASHLINK BANGLADESH LTD and is expected to go into commercial operations in early 2008.
The joint venture is expected to provide significant benefit to banking clients across the country through the state-of-the-art network of 500 ATMs and 10,000 POS devices in the country in the coming years.
Euronet Worldwide is an industry leader in processing secured electronic financial transactions. It serves clients in approximately 130 countries.
Networld Bangladesh is a company engaged in the business of information communication technology products.
