Abahani clinch Women's Football League title

Dhaka Abahani Limited clinched the Walton Metropolis Women's Football League crown beating Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited by 3-1 goals in the final at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city Saturday, reports UNB.
Aung Mra Ching Marma, Suraiya Khatun and captain Suinu Pru Marma scored one each for Abahani while Liza netted the only goal for Mohammedan.
In the day's final, Aung Mra Ching Marma put Abahani ahead in the very 3rd minute of the match by a cool chip over advancing Mohammedan goalie Moli, taking a ball from Mohammedan defender (1-0).
Forward Liza leveled the margin for Mohammedan SC in the 21st minute as her left footer volley kissed the Abahani net, off a cross of medio Mukta from the right wing (1-1)
Abahani took the lead again in the 35th minute as their right winger Suraiya Khatun headed the ball home, utilising a cross of Mainu Marma from the left flank (2-1).
Mohammedan's national coloured striker Sabina Khatun squandered an opportunity to level the score in the 42nd minute but her shot missed the target with Abahani goalie Sabina Akter at her mercy.
Abahani captain Suinu Pru Marma sealed the fate of the match in the 75th minute by a long distance free kick from the midfield when Mohammedan's goalie Moli misjudged flight of the ball (3-1).
