Abahani maintain all-win record

Abahani Limited maintained their all-win record with 4th consecutive victory, while holders Mohammedan SC suffered the 4th defeat in a row in the Dhaka Metropolis Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League Tuesday, reports UNB.
Dhaka Abahani Limited celebrated their 4th successive win in the league beating giant-killer BKSP by 21 runs under D/L method in a rain-affected match at BKSP ground-1 in Savar in the afternoon.
Batting first after winning the toss, newcomers BKSP was all out for 63 in 15.3 overs with one down Ashraful Aziz scoring 21 runs off 15 balls that included two fours and a six.
In reply, Abahani Limited scored 43 runs for the loss of one wicket in eight overs before the match halted due to heavy rain. Their winning target under D/L method was fixed at 22 runs in eight overs.
Rezaul Karim of Abahani took three wickets for seven runs in four overs to be adjudged man of the match.
At the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium, City Club inflicted a 57-run defeat on defending champions Mohammedan SC.
Coin-favoured City Club batted first to score 168 for 5 in quota 20 overs and later they dismissed Mohammedan SC for 111 runs in 11.1 overs.
Arafat Salahuddin of City Club, who scored 33 runs and picked up four wickets for 26 runs, was adjudged man of the match.
At the BKSP ground-2, Victoria SC also maintained all-win run in the league beating Surjotarun Club by 24 runs.
Sent into bat first, Victoria SC scored 103 runs for 8 in stipulated 20 overs with Farhad Hossain contributing 40 runs off 43 balls that featured three fours.
In reply, Surjotarun Club was all out for 79 in 17.2 overs with lower order Nizamuddin Ripon scoring not out 22 off 23 balls hitting one four and two sixes.
Saqlain Sajib of Victoria SC, who claimed four wickets conceding four runs in 2.2 overs with a maiden, was adjudged man of the match.
At the BKSP ground 1, Sonargaon Cricketers earned a 30-run victory over lowly Young Pegasus Club.
Batting first after winning the toss, Sonargaon Cricketers amassed 140 runs for 9 in quota 20 overs.
Opener Ejaz Ahmed hammered 38 runs off 23 balls with two fours and four sixes to be adjudged man of the match.
In reply, Young Pegasus Club scored 110 runs for 6 in 20 overs with Jubair Ahmed making 27 off 30 balls that included four fours.
At the BKSP ground-2 in the afternoon, the match between Bangladesh Biman and Kalabagan KC was abandoned due to heavy rain.
