Abahani, Mohammedan, Azad win in DL method

Abahani Limited, Moha-mmedan Sporting Club and Azad Sporting Club won their respective final round matches of the 3rd Women's Club Cricket League, marred by rain, all in DL method at separate venues Tuesday, reports UNB. Abahani Limited beat BKSP by 23 runs at the City Club ground, Mohammedan SC defeated Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by 15 runs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium and Azad SC beat Gulshan Youth Club by 26 runs at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium. Abahani Limited vs BKSP Batting first after winning the toss, BKSP scored 104 for all in 37.4 overs with opener Sharmin Akter making 38 and one down Nuzhat Tasnia 21 runs. Khadiza-tul-Kobra claimed three wickets for 19 runs while Yeamim Rupa and Jahanara Alam took two wickets each for 13 and 19 runs respectively. In reply, Abahani Limited scored 75 for 4 in 20 overs when rain stopped play. Abahani needed 53 runs to win the match as per DL method. Opener Lata Mondol scored 20 runs while two down Tulika Biswas made not out 14. Farzana Haque, Sumona Akter and Suraiya Azmin took one wicket each. MSC vs Sheikh Jamal DC Favored by coin, Mohammedan SC batted first to score 153 for 5 in stipulated 40 overs with one down Rumana Ahmed top scoring 64 runs and opener Suktara Rahman making 26. Chameli Khatun grabbed two wickets for 27 runs. Chasing the revised target of 65 runs in 20 overs under DL method because of delay caused by rain, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club scored 49 runs in 20 overs for the loss of two wickets. Opener Mahmuda Khatun scored 19 runs while one down Suborna Islam made unbeaten 11. Shuktara Rahman and Rumana Ahmed took one wicket each. Azad SC vs Gulshan Club Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Gulshan Youth Club were dismissed cheaply for 77 runs in 37.2 overs. In reply, Azad SC scored 59 runs for 3 wickets in 21 overs when rain halted the play. They were later declared winners as per the DL method.
