Abahani, Mohammedan, Sheikh Jamal win

Abahani Limited, Mohammedan SC and Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club won their respective opening final round matches of the 3rd Women's Club Cricket League at separate city venues and its adjoining area Friday, reports UNB.
On the day, Abahani Limited recorded an emphatic five wickets victory over Gulshan Youth Club in the revised 35 overs match due to wet outfield at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium and Mohammedan SC earned an eight-wicket win over Azad SC at the City Club ground while Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club posted a five-wicket triumph over BKSP at the BKSP ground in Savar.
Abahani vs Gulshan Club
Batting first after winning the toss, Gulshan Youth Club were cheaply dismissed at 34 runs in 22.4 overs in the face of devastating bowling attack by some Abahani Limited bowlers.
None of Gulshan Youth Club players could have reached double digit.
Jahanara Alam and Khadijatul Kobra claimed three wickets each conceding four and five runs respectively while Bristy Roy took two wickets conceding four runs.
In reply, Abahani Limited easily reached their target making 38 runs for no loss in five overs.
Openers Lata Mandal and Ayesha Akter guided Abahani towards the victory with remaining unbeaten on 30 and 7 runs respectively.
MSC vs Azad SC
Favoured by coin, Azad SC batted first to score 123 runs in stipulated 40 overs with opener Sathira Zakir scoring 30 runs and number eight Champa Chakma making 24.
Suktara Rahman grabbed three wickets conceding 26 runs while Saila Sharmin captured two for 37.
In reply, Mohammedan SC reached their target of 124 runs in 29.1 overs for the loss of two wickets.
Opener Suktara Rahman, who was later adjudged the player of the match, contributed an unbeaten 53 runs while one down Rumana Ahmed added 30 runs.
Champa Chakma bagged two wickets conceding 28 runs.
Sheikh Jamal DC vs BKSP
Put to bat first, BKSP scored 134 for 7 in stipulated 40 overs with two down Farzana Haque scoring unbeaten 64 runs.
Tithi Rani and Lily Rani took two wickets apiece conceding 15 and 28 runs respectively.
Chasing the total, Sheikh Jamal reached their target of 135 runs in 36.4 overs for the loss of five wickets.
Two down Chamely Khatun contributed an unbeaten 39 runs to be followed by opener Panna Ghosh 36.
Dolly Rani took two wickets for 21 runs.
Chamely Khatun of Sheikh Jamal was named the player of the match.
