Abandoned mortar explodes, three wounded in Sylhet

SYLHET, Oct 4 (UNB): Explosion of an abandoned mortar at Dholoipara near Jalalabad Cantonment left two women and a minor boy severely wounded Wednesday afternoon.
The victims, Shanti Patra, Radhamoni Patra and Sukhdev Patra were rushed to Osmany Medical College Hospital. Their condition was stated to be critical.
Confirming the incident Khadimnagar UP chairman Mohammad Dalim said the poor women were unearthing logs when the mortar exploded at about 5.00pm.
